When Phillip McCallen decided to hang up his leathers for good after 17 years as one of the most gifted and successful racers in these islands with a long string of victories to his name, it was a natural step to opening his own motorcycle dealership. That was back in 2001 and his first showroom was in Lurgan, Co Armagh, not far from his home town of Tandragee. Today, at his purpose built premises at Portman Business Park, Lissue Industrial Estate West, Lisburn, he has one of the most modern show rooms and workshop in the UK and has held the Triumph franchise since 2002.
The modern Triumph factory began production in the ‘90s, initially building four cylinder machines at Hinckley, Leicestershire, before settling on the three cylinder configuration, for which it is justly famous. It also makes twins, such as the renowned Bonneville and the new 1600cc Thunderbird. It has a line-up to meet the needs of every enthusiast, from the sporting rider to the long distance tourist and the motorcyclist who prefers the more laid back cruiser style of motorcycle. Today, despite the recession, it is one of the most successful motorcycle manufacturers anywhere.
When you buy a Triumph from Phillip McCallen Motorcycles, either new or pre-owned, you do so in the knowledge that the sales service is backed up by a fully equipped workshop, manned by Triumph trained staff who use the latest Triumph diagnostic equipment.
